Chas. S. Middleton and Son was established in 1920 by Charles S. Middleton. He was active in the sale of livestock and ranches for a number of years. In the 1940's his son, Lee, joined him in the business. They continued selling farm and ranch properties and also established a mortgage loan department for agricultural financing. Charles S. Middleton passed away in 1955, but his son continued with the business. In 1970, the third generation, Sam Middleton, joined with his father in the company. Sam became interested in agricultural appraisals, earning the ARA (Accredited Rural Appraiser) designation in the mid 1970's. Additionally, Sam is a State Certified Appraiser in Texas and New Mexico.

Lee Middleton retired from the company in 1986, and Chas. S. Middleton and Son is now owned by Sam.

The company remains active in farm and ranch sales, covering an area of several states. The company is also active in farm, ranch, and commercial feed yard appraisals.

In addition to Sam, three other salesmen/appraisers are active in the business. They include Charlie Middleton, Rusty Lawson and Chad Dugger.
